2018 Superstar Shake-up: Who switched brands on WWE Monday Night Raw?

Jinder Mahal was transferred to Raw in the 2018 Superstar Shake-up – and immediately lost his WWE United States Championship.

The Modern Day Maharaja was the first talent to make the move in a draft from SmackDown LIVE to Monday Night Raw.

But after angering Raw general manager Kurt Angle with his ludicrous demands, he was told to defend his title versus Jeff Hardy.

The Charismatic Enigma defeated the crowd antagonist with a swanton bomb to capture the title for the first time in his career.

Hardy was already a grand slam champion in WWE, under the old format, but now the tag team legend has cemented the accolade.

Jeff Hardy is the new WWE United States Champion

Bayley and Sasha Banks looked to address the cracks in their friendship in a singles match which broke down into an intense brawl.

But when The Boss had Bayley locked in the Bank Statement, SmackDown’s Riott Squad arrived and attacked the two competitors.

The Authors of Pain – minus former manager James Ellering – destroyed Heath Slater and Rhyno for the second week in a row.

That was no surprise, but The Miz introducing Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens on Miz TV shocked fans in Harvard, Connecticut.

The Riott Squad attack Bayley

Zayn and Owens, fired from SmackDown and without jobs, failed to earn a spot on Monday nights in a singles match last week.

Yet it was revealed Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon had signed them in a move designed to infuriate her WrestleMania foe Angle.

But the Olympic Gold Medallist had the last laugh as he said per the request of Shane McMahon and Paige, Miz was going to SmackDown.

And he explained the reason for the move was that former SmackDown general manager Daniel Bryan wanted to get his hands on him.

The Miz was left furious when the WWE Hall of Famer added that the Miztourage – Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas – would be staying on Raw.

The final of a Tag Team Eliminator was held to determine opponents for Sheamus and Cesaro at Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.

‘Woken’ Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt bested The Revival to earn a shot at the vacant Raw Tag Team Championship on Friday, April 27.

As The Bar digested that news backstage, SmackDown’s Breezango, Tyler Breeze and Fandango, aka The Fashion Police, gave them a fine.

Last week ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey re-injured the left arm of her Mania opponent Stephanie McMahon with a devastating armbar submission.

As the former UFC superstar discussed the situation with Kurt, her training partner Natalya, a SmackDown talent, arrived and they hugged.

That friendship surely won’t last long and it could well be that given their familiarity, WWE books the veteran as Ronda’s first singles opponent.

Ember Moon is now a permanent member of the red brand and the former NXT Women’s Champion pinned another veteran, Mickie James last night.

She triumphed following her spectacular Eclipse diving corkscrew stunner to stake a claim to Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax’s new title belt.

Drew McIntyre ambushes Titus Worldwide

The currently directionless Dolph Ziggler has been a given a chance to reignite his career by switching back from Team Blue to Team Red.

Titus O’Neill, Apollo and Dana Brooke hit the ring to offer him a place in Titus Worldwide but the Showoff said he didn’t come back to Raw alone.

Former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre – sidelined with injury since last autumn – appeared and the Scotsman dished out a vicious beating.

An alliance that nobody saw coming sparked “holy s***” chants as the ex-Intercontinental Champion finally made his main roster return.

And a combined Zig Zag with the Claymore nearly took Apollo’s head off as a dominant new partnership was unveiled on Monday nights.

Samoa Joe interrupted Roman Reigns for the second week in a row to taunt him over his loss to Brock Lesnar ahead of their match at Backlash.

Natalya and Ronda Rousey have formed an alliance… for now

Natalya then submitted Absolution’s Mandy Rose with a Sharpshooter, only to be ambushed by her team mate Sonya Deville after the bell.

Rousey made the save and was challenged to a throwdown by fellow ex-MMA star Deville, but Sonya didn’t last long after eating a big forearm.

Baron Corbin was introduced as a new Raw signing without much fanfare as an image of the Lone Wolf appeared on the screen after an ad break.

Breezango somehow managed to beat The Bar in an upset victory as Breeze gained a quick roll-up of Cesaro after a prolonged beating.

Bobby Roode debuted on Raw

The main event saw The Miz, The Miztourage plus Owens and Zayn thrust into a 10-men tag team match with five rivals picked by Angle.

They were Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Finn Balor, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins and… The Glorious One, Bobby Roode!

The former NXT Champion and ex-United States Champion appeared on Raw for the first time as he too said goodbye to SmackDown LIVE.

Owens, who dominated Raw as the first Universal Champion, shone early on, before Lashley wowed fans with a dominant display.

Of course the Monster Among Men went one step further and decimated The Miz, after he was abandoned by Axel and Dallas.

The winners of the 10-man tag team match

After the show finished, it was revealed that former NXT Tag Team Champion and Olympian Chad Gable is also heading to Raw, offering interesting possibilities when his former partner Jason Jordan returns from injury.

Joining him is an ex-Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, Mojo Rawley, the veteran singles competitor Zack Ryder, plus another tag team, The Ascension.

The husband of Maria Kanellis, Mike Kanellis, has also left SmackDown as he looks to reboot his career on Monday nights.
